Your Census Enumerator and the Census Team
Every census form will be personally delivered and collected by one of our 5,100 Census Enumerators. Each enumerator will be clearly identifiable as they will wear a yellow high-visibility jacket marked “Census Enumerator” on the back and “Census” on the front. They will have a satchel with “Central Statistics Office An Phríomh Oifig Stadrimh” printed on it. Please ensure that your enumerator shows their ID card to you when delivering/collecting your form.
Census Enumerators will start to deliver the forms in your area from 28 February and will continue to deliver forms up to 3 April. Your census forms should be completed on Census Night (Sunday, 3 April). Your enumerator will return to collect your form between 4 April and 6 May.

As enumerators are required to make personal contact with each householder in their area, they may have to make several calls to some homes. If they are unable to reach you, they will leave their contact details so that you can arrange a mutually convenient time for your form to be delivered and/or collected.
The enumerator will have a smart phone and an application (Case Management System) which they will use to note details such as the householder’s name, phone number, and a suitable time to return to collect the census form. This allows the householder to contact their enumerator with any queries and will assist the enumerator in contacting the householder. All personal data on the Case Management System will be deleted 3 months after the field operation and mobile phones will be forensically wiped.
If you do not receive a census form you should contact CSO directly at 0818 2022 04 or census2022@cso.ie, to arrange for your enumerator to deliver one to you.
Your enumerator will be able to answer any queries or provide assistance in relation to the form, including for people with vision or hearing impairments. You can also ask them to provide you with an Irish Language census form.
You can also find information on (completing) your form here.
Your enumerator will call to collect your completed form before 6 May. Please wait for them to call. However, if your form has not been collected by Friday 6 May, then please post it fully completed, to:
