Accessibility aids
We want to ensure that everyone in Ireland can take part in Census 2022, by making it accessible to everyone, while respecting their right to confidentiality and equal opportunity.
Assistance is available if you are affected by any of the following issues which may impact on your ability to participate in the census.
Sight
A number of versions of the Census 2022 Form are available to assist those with visual impairments

NOTE: The large print form is for guidance only. You must fill in the standard census form given to you by your enumerator.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing
There is a video available to assist you. The video is available in Irish and English.
If you have a hearing impairment, and you need assistance to communicate with your Census Enumerator, please let your enumerator know when they call, or contact the Census Helpdesk.
Literacy
If you have dyslexia or other literacy issues, there is a Step by Step Guide to filling in your Census Form (PDF) to assist you in understanding and completing your form. This Plain English Guide has been developed with the assistance of the National Adult Literacy Association (NALA).
The guide gives information to help you fill in your census form. It includes:

Other Languages
The 2022 census form is available in English and Irish and you can only complete your form in one or other of these languages. However, if English or Irish is not your first or main language, you can view/download a copy of the census form in one of 22 other languages here. Your enumerator can also give you a translated copy of the form in one of the 22 languages. Please note these translations are for information and guidance only and that you must complete your census form in English or Irish.
